  31. System Requirements
  32.  
  33. Color Visions requires the following minimum system configuration:
  34.  
  35. *    A 400 MHz Intel Pentium-class or faster processor
  36. *    Windows XP, 2000, ME, or 98 operating system
  37. *    At least 64 megabytes (MB) of random access memory (RAM)
  38. *    At least 50 MB of available hard disk space; additional disk space is required if you work with many large image 
  39.     files
  40. *    A 16 bit (high color) video display card
  41. *    A CD-ROM drive
  42.  
  43. For achieving the best performance, we recommend the following hardware:
  44.  
  45. *    128 MB or more of RAM
  46. *    A 24 bit (true color) video display card
  47. *    Monitor resolution of 600 x 800 pixels or greater
  48. *    A Windows-compatible color printer
  49.  
  50. Color Visions performance improves with more RAM, faster CPUs, and faster and larger hard drives.

  53. Section 2:  Installation 
  54. -----------------------------------------------------
  55. To install the Color Visions  software, insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.  If your CD-ROM drive has Autorun 
  56. capability the Setup program will automatically start running.  If it does not start within 30 seconds, under the Start 
  57. menu choose Run and type the CD-ROM drive letter followed by Setup.exe (example, E:\Setup.exe).

  59. Once the Setup program starts running, follow the prompts on the screen to finish the installation.

  62. Section 3:  Running Color Visions
  63. -----------------------------------------------------
  64. Once the software is installed, a program icon will be created in the following default location:
  65. Start > Programs > PORTER Color Visions > Color Visions.exe
  66. Choose Color Visions from this location to start the program.  IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU WATCH THE TUTORIAL
  67. TO HELP YOU GET STARTED.  Any other questions can be answered by using the help documents under the Help menu.

  77. PLEASE READ THIS DOCUMENT CAREFULLY BEFORE RUNNING THE ENCLOSED SOFTWARE.  THIS AGREEMENT LICENSES THE ENCLOSED SOFTWARE 
  78. TO YOU AND CONTAINS WARRANTY AND LIABILITY DISCLAIMERS.  BY RUNNING THE ENCLOSED SOFTWARE, YOU ARE AGREEING TO BECOME BOUND 
  79. BY THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THESE TERMS, PROMPTLY RETURN THIS PACKAGE TO THE PLACE WHERE YOU 
  80. OBTAINED IT.

  82. 1.    Definitions
  83.  
  84. (a)    "Color Visions  Software" means the software program included in the enclosed package, and all related 
  85. updates supplied by ei software, Inc..
  86.  
  87. (b)    "Color Visions  Product" means the Color Visions  Software and the related documentation and 
  88. models and multimedia content (such as animation, sound and graphics), and all related updates supplied by 
  89. ei software, Inc..
  90.  
  91. 2.    License.  This Agreement allows you to:
  92.  
  93. (a)    Use the Color Visions  Software on a single computer.
  94.  
  95. (b)    Make one copy of the Color Visions  Software in machine-readable form solely for backup purposes.  
  96. You must reproduce on any such copy all copyright notices and any other proprietary legends on the original copy of 
  97. the Color Visions  Software.
  98.  
  99. (c)    Make copies of the End-User Product (printed images) and distribute those copies: (i) for use by personnel 
  100. employed by you; (ii) for use by third parties, provided that the copies are distributed free of direct or indirect 
  101. charges; or (iii) for use by a single third party solely for its own internal purpose.
  102.  
  103. 3.    Restrictions.  You may not make or distribute copies of the Color Visions  Product, or electronically 
  104. transfer the Color Visions  Software from one computer to another or over a network.  You may not decompile, 
  105. reverse engineer, disassemble, or otherwise reduce the Color Visions  Software to a human-perceivable form.  
  106. You may not modify, rent, resell for profit, distribute or create derivative works based upon the Door Imagination System 
  107. Software or any part thereof.  You will not export or reexport, directly or indirectly, the Door Imagination System Product 
  108. into any country prohibited by the United States Export Administration Act and the regulations thereunder.
  109.  
  110. 4.    Ownership.  The foregoing license grants give you limited rights to use the Door Imagination System Software.  
  111. Although you own the disk or CD-ROM on which the Color Visions  Software is recorded, you do not become the 
  112. owner of, and Color Visions  retains title to, the Color Visions  Software and any Door Imagination 
  113. System files, and all copies thereof.  All rights not specifically granted in this Agreement are reserved by ei software, Inc..

  115. 5.    Limited Warranties.
  116.  
  117. (a)    Color Visions  warrants that, for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of delivery (as evidenced by 
  118. a copy of your receipt):  (i) the Color Visions  Software will perform in substantial conformance with the 
  119. documentation supplied as part of the Color Visions  Product and (ii) that the media on which the Door Imagination 
  120. System Software is furnished will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.  EXCEPT AS SET FORTH 
  121. IN THE FOREGOING LIMITED WARRANTY, Color Visions  DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, 
  122. INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT.  IF APPLICABLE LAW IMPLIES
  123.  ANY WARRANTIES WITH RESPECT TO THE Color Visions  PRODUCT, ALL SUCH WARRANTIES ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO 
  124. THIRTY (30) DAYS FROM THE DATE OF DELIVERY.  No oral or written information or advice given by ei software, Inc., its 
  125. dealers, distributors, agents or employees shall create a warranty or in any way increase the scope of this warranty.
  126.  
  127. (b)    SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO THE ABOVE EXCLUSION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.  THIS 
  128. WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER LEGAL RIGHTS WHICH VARY FROM STATE TO STATE.
  129.  
  130. 6.    Exclusive Remedies.
  131.  
  132. (a)    Your exclusive remedy under Section 5 is to return the Color Visions  Software to the place you acquired it, 
  133. with a copy of your receipt and a description of the problem. ei software, Inc. will use reasonable commercial efforts to 
  134. supply you with a replacement copy of the Color Visions  Software that reasonably conforms to the documentation or 
  135. to provide a replacement for the defective media, as appropriate.  ei software, Inc. shall have no responsibility with 
  136. respect to Color Visions  Software that has been altered in any way or where the non-conformance arises out of use 
  137. of the Color Visions  Software in conjunction with software or hardware not supplied by ei software, Inc. or with 
  138. respect to any media damaged by accident, abuse or misapplication.
  139.  
  140. (b)    As your exclusive remedy in the event of a breach of the limited warranty, ei software, Inc. may refund to you your 
  141. purchase price for the Color Visions  Product.
  142.  
  143. 7.    Limitations of Damages.
  144.  
  145. (a)    ei software, INC.  SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES 
  146. (INCLUDING DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF BUSINESS, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR THE LIKE), WHETHER BASED ON BREACH OF CONTRACT, TORT 
  147. (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), PRODUCT LIABILITY OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ei software, INC. OR ITS REPRESENTATIVES HAVE BEEN 
  148. ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES AND EVEN IF A REMEDY SET FORTH HEREIN IS FOUND TO HAVE FAILED OF ITS ESSENTIAL 
  149. PURPOSE.
  150.  
  151. (b)    ei software, Inc.'s total liability to you for actual damages for any cause whatsoever will be limited to the greater
  152.  of $1.00 or the amount paid by you for the Color Visions  Software that caused such damages.
  153.  
  154. (c)    SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OF CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE 
  155. ABOVE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

  157. 8.    Basis of Bargain.  The limited warranty, exclusive remedies and limited liability set forth above are fundamental 
  158. elements of the basis of the bargain between ei software, Inc. and you. ei software, Inc. would not be able to provide the 
  159. Color Visions  Software on an economic basis without such limitations.
  160.  
  161. 9.    General.  This Agreement shall be governed by the internal laws of the State of Massachusetts.  This Agreement 
  162. contains the complete agreement between the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof, and supersedes all prior 
  163. or contemporaneous agreements or understandings, whether oral or written.  All questions concerning this Agreement shall 
  164. be directed to ei software, Inc. at the address written below.
